Differences between Bellows and Ordinary Globe Valves

Here are the differences between bellows globe valves and ordinary globe valves.

Bellows globe valves are also known as bellows seal globe valves. They are designed to ensure stem zero leakage by forming a metal barrier between the fluid medium and the atmosphere through automatic roll welding. Compared with the traditional globe valve, it has the following advantages.

1. The bellows globe valve has a long service life, reduces the number of maintenance and reduces operating costs. The sealing design of rugged bellows pipes ensures zero stem leakage and no maintenance.

2. The opening and closing torque of glove valves is small, which reduces labor intensity, and can drive any form of driving device. It is easy to remote control.

3. Its appearance is beautiful. The valve channel has a smooth streamline, which reduces the flow resistance coefficient of the valve. It is a high-quality energy-saving product.

4. The outer seal of the valve is sealed with bellows and graphite and a stainless steel gasket, which is reliable and can be used for a long time without replacing the sealing packing. In industrial use, the leakage caused by the globe valve contains high temperature, highly toxic, flammable and explosive, radioactive media and so on. It not only pollutes the environment, but also often causes significant personal and property losses. This kind of valve is more safe and stable, in the design and manufacture of foreign advanced standards strictly.

The advantages and application of bellows globe valves

The bellows globe valve has no leakage and it is safe to be used in high-risk media. Ordinary globe valves are packed and slide between stem and packing to leak (spool) at low temperatures. Bellows globe valves use closed bellows that can be stretched and compressed instead of packing seals to effectively prevent leakage caused by packing loss. It is generally used for the transmission of strong permeability medium, such as the valve on the hydrogen system, as long as the bellows are not damaged. The ordinary globe valve is packed with packing to seal, which is easy to leak.

The open or close stroke of this kind of valve stem is relatively short. It has a very reliable cut off function, and because of the change of the valve seat opening and the stroke of the disc is directly proportional to the relationship. It is very suitable for flow regulation. This type of valve is therefore ideal for use as a cut-off or regulator and throttling.
