The installation of the ball valve
1. Make sure that the pipeline and valve have been cleaned before operation.
2. The actuator operation of the
valve drives the valve stem to rotate according to the size of the input signal: the valve is closed when the positive rotation is 1/4 circle (900). Reverse rotation 1/4 turn (900), then, the valve opens.
3. When the direction indicating arrow of the actuator is parallel to the pipeline, the valve is opened. When the arrow is perpendicular to the line, the valve closes.
The maintenance of the ball valve
Having a longer service life and maintenance-free time will depend on several factors: normal working conditions, maintaining a harmonious temperature/pressure ratio, and reasonable corrosion data.
Proper removal of ball valves
(The most common installation and maintenance methods of
ball valves)
Note: the fluid pressure in the valve body remains when the ball valve is closed.
Remove line pressure and leave the valve in an open position before service.
Disconnect the power or air supply before maintenance.
Detach the actuator from the support before maintenance
1. The packing lock
Lock the stem nut if the packing culvert is in the leakage filling.
Note: do not lock. Usually, lock 1/4 ring to 1 ring, then, the leakage will stop.
2. Replace the seat and seal
A. Disassembly
Leave the valve partially open and flush any hazardous materials that may be inside and outside the valve.
Close the ball valve, remove bolts and nuts from the side flanges, and completely remove the valve from the line.
Disassemble the driving device-actuator, connecting bracket, lock washer, stem nut, butterfly shrapnel, glam, wear plate and stem packing in sequence.
Remove body cover connection bolts and nuts, separate the bonnet from the body, and remove the bonnet gasket.
Verify that the ball is in the "off" position. This will allow it to be easily removed from the body. Then, remove the seat.
Push the stem down through the body center hole until fully removed, then remove the O-ring and packing ring.
Note: Use caution to avoid scratching stem surfaces and packing seals of valves.
Proper removal of the ball valve (our most common installation and maintenance methods of ball valves).
B. Reassemble
Clean and inspect the parts under inspection. Replacement of seats and cover gaskets and seals with spare parts pack is highly recommended.
Assemble in reverse disassembly order.
Cross lock flange bolts with specified torques.
Lock the nut with the specified torque.
After the actuator is installed, rotate the stem to drive the spool to rotate the corresponding input signal to make the valve open and closed.
If possible, seal pressure test and performance test of valves as per standard after piping installation.
