What are the connection ways of the
ball valve?
Common connection ways of
ball valves have three types as follows: the threaded connection, flange connection and welding connection. Different connection ways are different if the applicable pipeline environment and working condition of ball valves. Do you know what the connection ways of the ball valve are? This article here is for you about it in detail.
1. The threaded connection
This connection is that the ball valve inlet and outlet ends are machined into a threaded shape, so that the screw can be into the threaded joint or pipe. This type of connection may result in large leakage channels, which should be blocked with sealant, sealing tape or packing.
The nominal size of screw-connected ball valves is below DN50. If the nominal size is too large, the installation and sealing of the connecting part will be very difficult.
2. The flange connection
The installation and disassembly of the ball valve connected to the flange will be more convenient. The pressure capacity is stronger than that with a threaded connection, and the diameter range is wider. However, the flange ball valve is heavier than the thread ball valve. The corresponding price will be relatively high. However, the temperature resistance of the flanged ball valve is limited. When the temperature in the pipeline exceeds 350℃, the thread, gasket and flange will become relaxed, which will significantly reduce the load of bolts. The flange connection with a large force may leak.
3. The welding connection
Welded ball valves are suitable for a variety of pressures, and temperatures and are more reliable than flanged ball valves for use in harsh conditions. However, the disadvantage of welding ball valves is that it is difficult to disassemble and reinstall. Therefore, the use of welding ball valves are limited to long-term reliable operation or the use of harsh conditions and high temperature occasions.
Welded ball valves below DN50 usually have welded sockets to carry pipes with flat ends.
The above is to introduce you about the common connection ways of ball valves. Topper are produced and sold like threaded ball valves, flanged ball valves, and welded ball valves. We are Topper Valves Co., Ltd., which is a dynamic and leading valve manufacturer. Established in April 2010, Topper has successfully obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other certificates. If you have this kind of procurement need, welcome to inquire.
